Junior Ranger: Tick Talk

September 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

$6 per vehicle (2-8 people) for park entry; No additional fees for program participation

Description

Calling all Junior Rangers! Florida is full of amazing wildlife, but one animal that we consider a little less amazing is on the rise in Florida…the tick! Tick season is still in full swing. These are little critters that can cause big problems. How do we prevent their troublesome bites?

Together we’ll learn about ticks, the diseases they spread, and how to prevent tick bites. During this program we’ll practice removing ticks with tweezers, spotting tick hot spots, and doing a tick check. Information will also be provided to the adults about their role to play.

This will earn our Junior Rangers their “Recreation” stamp in the Junior Ranger passport. However, participants do not need to enrolled as Jr. Rangers already to join in on the fun. This program will be most appropriate for learners 9+ years old.
